In 1963, Peter Tosh was a founding member of the Wailers alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer. After leaving the Wailers in 1974, Tosh established himself as a successful solo artist, releasing his classic solo debut, Legalize It, in 1976, followed up by Equal Rights the following year.

The music featured here was culled from two performances at the legendary My Father’s Place club in Roslyn, New York, on 4 July 1978. Included are solo cuts such as Legalize It and Stepping Razor, alongside the Wailers classics Get Up, Stand Up, a fantastic cover of the Temptations’ Don’t Look Back, and more.

Notably, Tosh’s backing band, Word, Sound & Power, featured the legendary Jamaican rhythm section of Sly & Robbie.
